Dear family,
Things are going pretty good. We've been teaching a Native American named Reynold and he seems to be doing well. He took some of the lessons in Mesquite about a year and a half ago and is still on a tight budget. He's trying to work something out with the bishop so that he can stay in a hotel for at least a week or so until he can find a job. That's the only person that I can think of that is starting to make progress. We also have a member referral named Ashley Peterson and we're having a lesson with her tonight, so we'll see how that goes. We meant to see Georgina and Will yesterday, but they were really sick and so was my companion.
Even though things have gotten a lot better since I first got here, there's still a lacking in our number of investigators that we have and so there have been a couple days this last week where we just walked down some neighborhoods to try and find some people. It's hard some days because there are times when there's nobody outside.
When I was on exchanges with my district leader, we crashed the Worldwide Leadership Training meeting because we had nothing else to do, but we only caught the last 20 minutes of it.
I've had a couple of lessons with Spanish people, and they've supposedly taken most of the lessons, by the last Spanish missionary that was here, but none of them seem to have progressed at all or shown any interest in what we have to say. One of them just complains about everything bad that happens in his life, and another one is just trying to Bible bash with us and it always goes nowhere in the lesson. We watched the Restoration video with him and it was probably the first time that I didn't feel the Spirit because he was just making fun of it the whole time. It makes me wonder what the last missionary was teaching and why he still held onto these people. Sometimes you just have to know when to let them go and that's probably what we're going to do with one of them this week.
Anyway, things are going pretty good. I'll let you know if I need anything else.
I love you!
Elder Meiners
