Dear family and friends,

So everything went well with Nelcy's baptism. There wasn't a whole lot of people there, and so the missionaries were doing most of the program such as the ordinance, the talks, and the prayers. She didn't get confirmed yesterday like she was supposed to because she came late to church because she couldn't wake up, so we'll just do that next week.

I don't really know what's happening with Lucio. He's supposed to get baptized this Saturday, but we haven't seen him in about 2 weeks, and sometimes he doesn't keep his appointments. Ramiro also came to church, but we haven't been able to teach him anything this week. However, we did get to do a little service with him because he's remodeling a house mostly by himself and we helped with some of the outside work.

Speaking of service, there was a big "Day of Service" on Saturday, where about 150 missionaries along with about 2,000 people cleared out a ton of tumbleweeds in Northern Las Vegas. We even got to wear those yellow 'Mormon Helping Hands' jerseys and we did that for about half the day. I think I pricked myself like 6 times from the goatheads on the weeds, but it was worth it because we did a lot of work and I felt good after.

We also have a young couple that we're teaching and their names are Daniel and Yesenia. They seem really awesome and they even read the Book of Mormon when we asked them to. We thought that was awesome when they kept their commitments. We have the same hopes for Diana and so now we just need to keep in contact with them.

This week we also had Elder Marlin Jensen from the Presidency of the Seventy come to our mission on Thursday and we had a conference. It's always really cool to have somebody that high up to come and share a little bit of the wisdom that they have. He talked a lot about the different levels of faith that we can achieve and then he also expressed the importance of confessing when we go through the repentance process. When we got to the conference, we had a car inspection, but luckily we had the car hand washed, vacuumed, the carpets shampooed, and we even changed the license plates from Utah to Nevada plates, so it's looking spick and span. Elder Jensen also held a fireside that night for all missionaries, ward missonaries and leaders, and rcent converts. So it was really cool because I saw Arlene that I baptized in Sunrise and also from Mesquite, I saw Max  and the Castaneda family got baptized a few weeks after I left.

It sounds like there's a lot of cool stuff happening around the community that I never got to see: a McDonald's even closer to our house than before (as if the 2 that we had in All Saints and Burtonsville weren't enough) and Reservoir hosting a marching band competition.

All in all, we just need to make more of an effort to find new investigators and ask around for referrals. The goals that we set aren't necessarily too high, we just need to work harder at reminding ourselves of the goals that we made and achieving them. I know that the Lord will bless us as long as we work hard, if we're obedient, and if we try our best. I think that's all I have for this week. I'll let you know if I need anything.

I love you!

P.S. The pictures I'm sending are from the service and the baptism we had on Saturday.
