Dear family and friends,
This week has been pretty good. We had a lot of people come to church today, which was really good. One of our investigators, Ruby, came with her whole family and so that was really awesome. We set Ruby for baptism for the 16th of October, so I hope that goes well.
Then Lurdes and Pamela also came to church, but still Giovana hasn't come for some reason. They're doing really good and they're keeping their commitments. I think that we're going to try and set them for baptism this week.
Byron came to our ward party that we had on Saturday, but we didn't see him at church. He has a baptismal date for the 10th of October.
We were pretty disappointed to find out that Rafael moved last week, but luckily we gave his information to the Elders in his area, so I hope that goes well.
We were also pretty surprised that Marlon, the person that tracked us down, was already a member and he was baptized when he was 14. He said that he thought he needed to be re-baptized again because he went less active when his parents left. That's the 3rd time that that's happened where we thought that they were an investigator, but they were actually members.
So there was a gang shooting right next to our apartment on Thursday night and so we had to move apartments. So right now we're living with some other Elders in our district (which just happens to be where I lived when I was in Sunrise) until we find another apartment. We think that we have one picked out, so we might be moving there tomorrow or Wednesday. So Elder Pirir is really close to finishing his mission. In fact, he finishes next Tuesday, so I'll be getting a new companion next week regardless if I'm staying or going.
We had our Ward Patriotic party and that was pretty fun. The dinner went really long and so we couldn't stay for all of the skits, but for the ones we saw, they were pretty good.
Yeah, the bike is still going good for me. It should probably last me until the end of my mission. It was pretty rainy towards the beginning of last week, but now it's back to being sunny again and in the mid 90's, pretty nice.
I guess that's it. Not too much happened this week except for us moving out of our apartment. I'll let you know if I need anything.
I love you!
Elder Meiners
