Dear family,
Today was the first day it rained while I've been here at the MTC, it's usually been pretty nice weather. I went to the temple today, and it was pretty cool. I didn't know that the Provo Temple has 6 endowment rooms because it looks fairly small and the DC Temple also has 6. I learned a lot about my companions this week and what they like to do. There's Elder High in our district who's from Idaho and likes football, but we were all kind of surprised when he said he liked reading. I'm actually the only one in my district going to Nevada for my mission. The other people in my district are from Washington State, Idaho, California, and New Jersey. I forget who the mission president at the MTC is but they're the Smiths, which doesn't really help at all. My companion actually learned German in high school, so he's struggling a lot with learning Spanish. I'm still learning the language, too, but it seems like I'm doing all the talking during the discussions.
Yes, I have everything I need, I don't need a bathrobe. In fact, I don't even know anybody who has one. I enjoyed your letters that you sent me. They were all nice and it'd been a while since I got a letter. That's good that Dad found Mom's camera, at least our efforts hadn't been in vain when we were trying to look for it. It's so weird how Andrea has one more week of school and everybody else in the whole state has two.
I'm learning a little more Spanish each day, and I might actually be able to do door-to-door messages by now. I know now how to ask about a family, ask about their work, and a little bit about the discussions. When we practice doing discussions, I never know what to say when I'm the investigator because I've grown up in the church. Maybe you could tell me about your conversion story, Dad, and say what really made you want to join the church/any beliefs that may've kept you from joining, just for discussion's sake.
Oh, I was getting a drink of water at 10:30 when the bell rand to go to bed, and one of the zone leaders came up to me and asked me what I was was doing. I said I was getting a drink of water, and he said that I should obey all the rules with exactness. I tried to shake it off because it was only a minute and then he came into our room and said to the other Elders what he told me. I thought that was silly. Robert D. Hales also spoke at the Devotional on Tuesday, so that was pretty cool. I guess that's it.
