Dear family,
This week has also been kind of hard not because of the weather this time, but because of the holiday seasons. There weren't a whole lot of people home last week during Christmas Eve and Christmas, but we tried to teach those people that were home.
We still have Rocio Aguilar set for the 15th of January, and also Jose and Teresa Gonzalez. They all came to morning church this past week, so that was awesome and so now we just have to finish teaching all the lessons and make sure that they're ready for baptism.
We also set two more people for baptism, one of them is Katherine Vasquez and she's part of a part-member family, and the other was a member referral, I think her name was Maria Lures. They're both set for Jan. 22nd. Katherine seems a little shy, so we'll try to get her some friends when she goes to church, and Maria seems really awesome just after the first lesson. We'll see how all of that turns out, though.
So I went to this English member's house for lunch on Christmas and he said he went to the California Oakland Mission from 1978-1980. His name is Michael R. Manuele. I thought maybe Dad would've known him. He does a lot of music and stuff at his house and he said he wrote a musical before he went on a mission. We also had Christmas dinner at an English member's house and it kind of reminded me of back home.
The sister missionaries got pulled over by a cop because they were going 15 over the limit, but they didn't get a ticket because all they had to do was act like they didn't know how fast they were going and act scared and nervous. That would not happen to Elders.
I can't think of much else that went on this week. I'll tell you if I need anything. I love you!
Elder Meiners
