Dear family and friends,
This week has been pretty good. We finally got to meet with Josh this week and be able to teach him. We also met with Heidi and Taylor (they're twins) and they usually have lessons at the same time as Josh since they're all 14 years old. Josh was excited to tell us that his parents gave him permission to be baptized (his parents are both different religions) and so he's ready to be baptized on June 9th. And what's better is that the twins want to be baptized on the same day as Josh, so they'll be baptized that day, too.
Nick is still coming to church, but he's not progressing at all because he doesn't really have a desire to learn at all. The Phelon's (the one that sent you guys the video) also had an FHE last week and they had a nonmember there named Ranae. They said that they taught the whole Plan of Salvation to her and that she'll be there again next week and that we'll come by and introduce ourselves to her.
We went by Paz again this week (the Philipino lady) and we gave her 2 copies of the Book of Mormon, one in Tagalog and one in English so that she can understand either way. We asked her to read at least the first chapter by the time we came over again.
So we've been either biking or getting rides from members this whole week, but we'll be getting a new car tomorrow, so that should be good.
We also did a service this week for a member in another ward where we helped trim their palm trees. Basically if there were any withering or dead branches, we'd get a trimmer or extension-pruner and cut them off. It was pretty crazy because if the trees were too tall, we'd have to get a ladder and do it. And since I was the lightest person there, nobody else felt comfortable going up and so I did some of them by myself.
That's awesome that Joey Yarn has his mission call already, that's so crazy. He was so young the last time I saw him.
Our area is doing good for now. We've got a few people ready to be baptized and we're also still trying to find some more people to teach. Well, I think that's about it from me this week. I'll try not to count down the days too quickly. Depending on how much stuff I have, I might be sending some more stuff home this week.
I love you!
Elder Meiners
